Welcome from the Committee load PDF version for print
The Committee welcomes you to a new season which, due to current restrictions on public gatherings, will be operated online for the time being. Messages to the membership will be sent by email with talks and competitions conducted as live Zoom meetings or pre-recorded YouTube presentations.
We do try to provide something for everyone, whether you are a beginner or an experienced photographer. Let us know your ideas and what you would like the club to provide. When we are able to resume meetings face to face, you are very welcome to bring a guest.
A list of Committee members, with their special responsibilities and contact details can be found in the following pages.
The Club meets on most Tuesdays at 7.30pm between 8th September and 4th May. Before Lockdown we met at Y Morfa Venue, Penmaen Road, Conwy LL32 8HA and attendees paid £2.00 which includes entry for a weekly prize draw and light refreshments. We hope to resume our meetings there when it is safe to do so.
For detailed directions to our venue please see: www.conwycameraclub.co.uk/home/directions/ There is also a Google map on page: www.conwycameraclub.co.uk/contact-us/
The online programme will run on the same dates and start at 7.30pm. Live Zoom meetings will open earlier to allow members to converse before the meeting. Zoom invites and YouTube links will be emailed to members a day or so before the meeting. Some meetings will be recorded and made available for viewing for a few days. Images are intended for Club members only and may not be suitable for viewing by non-club members who may be present.
You will be emailed a “finalised” Programme at the start of the season but please note that it may be subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances. An up to date copy is always available for download on a link on the “This Season” page of the Club Website.
Special Interest Groups (SIGs)
In addition to regular Tuesdays, all members have the option to participate in meetings concentrating on areas of special interest, normally on a Thursday and will be resumed after restrictions have been lifted. Attendees pay £3.00 towards the cost of room hire. In certain circumstances members are given advance notice of a visiting speaker / model which may incur an extra fee. A list of the SIG groups, leader contact details and programme will be emailed to you, but members need to be aware that changes may need to be made as the season progresses. An up to date copy can always be downloaded from “This Season” section of the Members Website.
A number of outings are organised throughout the year and will be resumed as soon as the Covid restrictions allow. Dates are advertised along with expected costs via Summer Newsletters and email and the Website Bulletin Board. The Club’s insurance provides basic public liability cover to members provided they remain as part of the organised group. There is no cover under the policy if you want to proceed independently.
Contact any member of the committee should you need assistance with using your camera or for general photographic help. If you are new to photography the Committee can nominate an experienced mentor at your request. There will be a series of Thursday Surgeries commencing September 10th providing support on all things photographic.
