When did you take up photography?
I have always been interested in photography but really started in 2008. I have attended many motorsport events with a video camera but always wanted to have images to hang on my wall.
What are your favourite subjects?
I mainly photograph motorsport as this is where my photography developed from. I have been attending events for over 25 years. I mainly photograph Rallying as I find it far more photographic than circuit racing however in recent years have attended Formula 1 in Belgium and the Le Mans 24 hr race. I also enjoy wedding shoots and portraiture.
What type of camera do you mostly use?
I use a Canon 7d and mainly use a Canon 18-200 mm lense as it is very versatile. For my motorsport shots I rotate during the day between the 18-200 and a Sigma 70-200mm f2.8. It always depends on the light.
When did you become a Conwy Camera Club member?
I joined Conwy Camera Club in 2010 and became a committee member in 2012. I am currently the Vice Chairperson and have previously held the competition secretary role.
What do you most enjoy about being in Conwy Camera Club?
I enjoy the social side of the club. The outings and discovering new techniques to bring my images to life. Since joining the club I have become more confident in my ability. My favourite evening are where we talk about photography, share ideas and offer feedback.
